Just the Polar watch?

Post by Shepherd » January 15th, 2008, 3:40 pm

Bought the chest strap and C2 plugin a while ago, and it works really well! Now I'd like to add a watch to the ensemble for running, but I can't find anywhere that sells watches without chest straps.

Anybody know of a place I can buy just the watch? I don't need anything fancy -- just something that displays the time and HR. I have no appetite for programming complicated stuff into a watch.

DECATHLON sells cheap and simple HRMs with their own brand, I think it's Geonaute.
If you take the low profile model, it will be cheap, and you'll have a (very lousy) spare chest strap.

Nashbar and performance bike always have several models and can be price competitive. They may just sell their own branded watch too. You might want to check

not sure if they sell just the watch, but could be cheap.

ebay has them

I missed out on one that went for about $60 today (including shipping). I had intended to make another bid but work interfered.

Thaere's another starting at $70 plus $10 shipping. That's too high for me for a used watch only. I might change my mind when it warms up and I start running again.
