ErgData+RowPro+PM3
I would like to use ErgData to add my rowing to FitBit. The challenge is that I have RowPro on a computer attached to the PM3 via a USP cable. Is there a way to also connect my android phone? Thanks!
Re: ErgData+RowPro+PM3
USB cable and bluetooth are not supported at the same time.
Instead continue to use rowpro as you do today. Once rowpro has the data have rowpro send the data to C2 log. Set up the C2 log to send data to Fitbit. Once the c2 log gets data from Rowpro it will then send to fitbit. This gets data to fitbit without needing ergdata. Rowpro replaces ergdata.

I don't use rowpro. I do use fitbit (charge 3). I do have ergdata capture PM5 data and send it to the C2 log, and have C2 log set up to push data to fitbit. Works very well real time. By the time ergdata completes sync with the C2 log Fitbit dashboard already has the data. Often the fitbit HR data arrives a bit later.
Some observations:
1. Fitbit sees each piece you do as a separate indoor rowing workout. So warmup just-row, some intervals then cool-down just-row will be 3 indoor rowing workouts.
2. Fitbit uses the calories reported by C2 rather than the fitbit computed calories. These calories are spread evenly over the rowing time period. So a 4 X 3min interval with 3 min rest workout has constant cal/sec over the 24 min workout.
3. Fitbit uses the HR data from the fitbit rather than from the PM5. So if you used a HR belt with PM5 you still need to look at C2 log to get that data.
4. Fitbit charge 3 HR data is garbage when you are rowing. The fitbit HR seems a bit more accurate when it thinks a workout is active, so thats how I row. But I do not use fitbit HR data for anything, instead use the data recorded by PM5 from polar H10.
5. If a Fitbit workout overlaps data reported by C2 Log then Fitbit uses the C2 log data and does not double count for things like calories burned. Typically for me C2 log data shows a higher calorie burn rate than the Fitbit.

Get yourself a new PM5, you can run RowPro, an ANT+ heartrate strap and ErgData all at the same time.
You need to follow a set startup sequence for it to work.
1. Turn on your PC and the PM5.
2. Connect the ANT+ HR strap
3. Connect ErgData via Bluetooth
4. Open RowPro
5. Join an online row or setup your row.
Once you open RowPro you cannot get Ergdata started. If anything goes wrong you need to start all over again, including shutting down the PC.
The old PM3 is really no longer up to the task if you want to start pushing the connectivity.

Re: ErgData+RowPro+PM3
Thanks for the tip about the PM5. I will try it with the PM3 and upgrade if I run into issues.

Re: ErgData+RowPro+PM3
I may have encountered an issue. Since I have started using FitBit, only the active segments of the workout are being displayed on the Latest Workouts screen of my C2 log, e.g. if I row 2x3'r4 30 min, only 6 minutes of data appears or if I row 3x20"r4, only 1 minute of data appears. Curiously, when I looked at my profile screen, the correct total meters for both days are listed for these two days. I have been communicating with C2 support and they think it might be a RowPro issue hence this post. Is anyone else seeing this or am I the only lucky one? I did ask if upgrading to a PM5 would solve this and am awaiting a response. Thanks for any guidance.

thanks for this info, my wife is using a Vivo 4s/Garmin Connect combined with Polar H9 RHM, PM4.
Using RowPro her data is pushed to Garmin Connect (via COncept2 logbook) but Row Pro does not upload HR data to the Logbook, only the average HR which is not particularly helpful.
I am thinking of upgrading to a PM5 and using Ergdata to capture the necessary data.
Do you know if i am right in thinking that Erg Data captures and uploads all data to the concept logbook, which in turn will push the data including HR data to Garmin Connect?
Apologies if your not familiar with Garmin Connect directly, it does show full HR data from activities recorded by her watch but doesn't capture much else from a rowing activity. The HR data it does capture is to say the least flaky.
Thanks for yours amd anyone elses thoughts.
