No, we didn’t reach 5MM by last night, but we did get to 4.5M, with many valiant efforts. More than half of our team members (22 of 43) have 100K or more, and the team average is already 100K per person – and that’s after only 17 of 31 days!
Strong meters have given us a powerful hold on #13, but we need more than 400K to catch the 12th Place team!

A nice 20 of 43 members (47%) posted 235,418 meters yesterday!

Posted Meters:
Jamie B - 5,000
Fred B - 10,470
Douglas D - 15,000

Gary G - 8,667
Brenda H - 4,802
Dennis H - 13,015
Chris H - 16,000 Reaches 100K!

Kevin K - 6,000
Heather R - 16,000
Jeff R - 18,050

Jeff S - 12,000

Will try to get your milestones tonight, sorry…

I couldn't imagine rowing in the basement (without a TV?). I don't consider myself a "real" rower and without entertainment I'd probably quit after about a kilometer. I row to DVDs. Anyone else who does this, here's my tip -- TV Ears!!! :D They flop a little against your chest but I got used to that. Now I can hear over the rower without having the volume up so everyone in the neighborhood can hear it too.

Speaking of which, Pirates of the Carribean 3 came today from Netflix. Time to go row! "Yo, ho, yo, ho, a pirate's life for me!"

Yes, we blew through 5MM at 6:30pm last night, and we had a big day. This led Lisa to say, “Woot, woot!”, a word of inscrutable meaning.

I don't want to be inscrutable!! So here, straight from the Urban Dictionary, is...

woot
Woot originated as a hacker term for root (or administrative) access to a computer. However, with the term as coincides with the gamer term, "w00t".

"w00t" was originally an trunicated expression common among players of Dungeons and Dragons tabletop role-playing game for "Wow, loot!" Thus the term passed into the net-culture where it thrived in video game communities and lost its original meaning and is used simply as a term of excitement.

A little bit lighter day, but quite good. We now average, as a team, over the 125K mark per person – which was our initial goal for the whole challenge... and we're only through Day 20! Of the 50 teams with 20 or more members, we are 4th in meters per person!
Team KTMTalk.com even closer for even less comfort, and we still need some 275K to take over 12th Place!

A reasonable 18 of 43 members (42%!) posted 223,870 meters Thursday!
In alphabetical order, here they are:

Posted Meters:
Fred B - 10,571
Pearse C - 7,000
Douglas D - 15,018
Monica D - 11,016
Paul E – 9,871

Doug E - 12,645
Lisa H - 10,273
Yisroel H - 38,394
Brenda H - 2,012
Dennis H – 18,446

Tyrone P - 17,342

Daiva S - 5,000
Mark S - 5,008
Jeff S – 12,000

David W - 14,077
Raymond W - 8,897
Glenn Y - 9,300

Yisroel hit 250K, Monica & Heather hit 150K, and Mark hit 100K…

All calloused hands on board, and all strapped feet on floorboard! We’ve opened an almost 500K lead in the battle for 11th Place...Want to be back in the Top 10? At 2.3M behind, that’ll take lots of rowing, or some good recruitment!

Milestones: Dennis AND Raymond hit ¾ of a Million meters, Lisa now post- 350K, Glenn graphically hit 300K!
Landmarks ho!: Yisroel tiredly approaching 1.9M (-10,369m), David brushing up against 700K (-916m), Tyrone just Down Under 600K (-16,210m), Joel still 8,999m from 450K, and a reinvigorated Paul is eyeing 250K (-11,724m)…

14 of our 53 TimbukTOOians, 26%, looking forward to the weekend, put up meters Thursday, logging 173,836 meters, causing Dungeons & Dragons geeks to look up long enough to Woot!

Today's Posted Meters:
Yisroel H - 38,394 Good 2-day total!
Dennis H - 18,446 Working back to longer rows!
Tyrone P - 17,342 Seventeen your lucky number?
David W - 14,077 Packing those meters on!
Doug E - 12,645 Our White Knight of Moat-O-Cross!

Jeff S - 12,000 Where’s my Baker’s Dozen?
Fred B - 10,571 Team Elder’s In-Human Effort!
Lisa H - 10,273 This Damsel is Fly! Woot!
Paul E - 9,871 Our No-Bull Spaniard strikes again!
Glenn Y - 9,300 Every day in Janvier!

Raymond W - 8,897 The Wright Stuff!
Mark S - 5,008 For Pete’s sake!
Daiva S - 5,000 The drive to 500K continues…
Brenda H - 2,012 2K, or not 2K, THAT is the question!

Izzy takes no responsibility for especially horrible puns today, and blames it all on the microwaves emitted from the microchip THEY implanted in his brain!
