Bear in mind that February 14th is a special day for the CTC when we remember Carole McNally's early death.

Ah good to see something's still about. Never met her myself but always thought it was a neat idea to remember someone by.

Hi Folks / Dougie

We have another yet circular argument on Facebook regarding CTC entry cut off point. The point was raised due to BW Rowing putting in three entries on the 1st February for the January competition and it affecting the overall positioning of some of the top teams on the board. Some are arguing entries should be allowed up until Midday on the 1st regardless of timezone, others are saying as long as it was rowed in January, in that time zone, it's still okay to enter it up until Midday in the new month. Others, like me, want a clearer, more definitive cut off point so that we all know where we stand. Dougie, I know you have removed late scores before? What's your policy on this?

As there's no way to tell who's in what time zone, and the website doesn't give you an hour of entry (only 30th/31st or 1st) then could we not just run the competition on GMT and cut all entries made on the 1st? This would only affect a few people in US/Canada on the very last day for the last few hours, but so be it, at least we'd all know what's what. At the end of the day people have got all month to row their CTC. It's pointless to bicker about a few hours at the very end of it. A clear and definitive cut of point for entries is what is needed.

Thanks.

Time Zone.

Because I live in New Zealand I basically miss a day of the challenge because we are (gmt +13).

Its a hard one with people from many countries. We have a guy from Canada in our team so he is - 5gmt almost a day difference between canada and New Zealand time zone.

Maybe gmt time zone? Just need to do the change over to new challenge on the dot.

Ain't going to happen mate.

Sorry about the late change, but my day job got in the way of lunch and playtime.

It's normally done at local midday in the United Kingdom because that's been discussed to death in the twelve years the CTC has been running and it works best for folks in most of the 26+ time zones in the World (+13 to -12 hour boundaries, plus the odd ones on half hours and three quarter hours).
