hey all,
is there an application where i can trace or design a route as if i am sailing around the world, and every time after work-out to input my meters done and see my "around the world" progress?
thanks!

That's a great idea

I've done this in the past. Not around the world, but more localized maps. I used road maps or nautical charts. C2 had a game years ago that I got the idea from. Something around Lake Champlain, I forget exactly. In any case, it is a great motivator to track "physical" progress. Good luck with your journey!

You could use the garmin base camp application.
Its free and it uses openmtbmaps.
Just track your own route there - maybe that's an option...

Have a word with the guy from @C2_2_Strava
A few tweaks and he might be able to map your rows across oceans, and then link them all together.

Do you realise that even a straight circuit round the Equator is 40,075,000 metres?
It took Dave Holby-Wolinski 934 days rowing nearly every day in Basingstoke shopping centre. He got 19 world records in his journey going nowhere.

The Ergomen's Prayer:
O Lord, this shopping center is so big
And my erg is so small!
The virtual cicumnav very doable for the obsessive/compulsive and those with nothing better to do. Uh, tha-tha-that would be me. I have managed a quarter of the distance in three silly seasons. Quite a number of C2 logbook users have averaged 3MM meters+ per year for a decade or longer. If the voyage is the destination, one should have some fitness waypoints and competition ports of call along the course. Nudge-nudge, wink-wink, 'nuf said, word to the wise!
