Bulging temple arteries

Post by Anth_F » April 11th, 2017, 12:34 pm

I noticed this yesterday after doing 45 minutes of steady state rowing. They were inflamed all evening (more so on my right side temple area) looked very unsightly, especially under lighting conditions. Even this morning it was still there, and now has slightly gone down a bit. Does anyone else suffer from this after lots of exercise? Apparently very common among mostly middle aged + people!!!!

I done some online research and there is a minefield of reasons it can happen. It can be a sign of overdoing things, and causing lots of stress to your body. It's now got me in a mindset of being hesitant to do anymore long periods of exercise n stuff, if this is the kind of thing i can expect as a result of that :?

All this rowing has caused a bit of this in my fore arms, or is that just the lack of body fat ?

Some people find this unsightly and a little creepy, unfortunately my girlfriend is one of them !

When it comes to "Lighting conditions" I turn the lights off ! although this also applies to anyone "middle aged" if you know what I mean !!!!

Yeah my veins pop all over on my forearms and biceps because of all the weights n stuff. But i am really having a hard time deal with this on my temple area. Its just an abnormal look to me... not attractive at all.

I am going to lay off exercise a bit and see if it vanishes there.

I was getting them when i would do the heavy-bag workouts but then they disappeared soon after the workout so never concerned me. But now, they remain there even the next day... they are horrible looking things on the facial area imo. If i was 80 and had them i wouldn't even worry, but i'm not even 40.

Some advice says do regular exercise lol, and drink plenty of water, which i do. I also wouldn't say that i drink excessive amounts of alcohol!!!!!

If it really looks strange/wrong, see a doctor. Tbh have no real clue what you are talking about. Maybe you are really making it to big, but could also bee real.

On a serious side I would get it checked out at your next doctors appointment.

On a less serious side it sounds usefull to be able to count your heart rate pulses by just looking in a mirror.

Theres probably not long left on this planet now anyway. I reckon WW3 is about to kick off!!!

On a side note, the inflammation has gone down a considerable amount now which i am happy about. I have no painful effects from it... i.e headaches etc, which is only when there should be real cause for concern.

Well now well now... i noticed a few premiership footballers have this same thing, especially after the matches in the after game interviews. Jamie Vardy does!! And he's only 30 odd year old.

His really stands out (temple area)

I feel at bit more at ease now as it seems more common and normal now and defo to do with low body fat + regular long bouts of solid exercise. It just looks ugly though when you are very aware of it and look for it.

George Hincapie was (is? he probably still has them) famous for his varicose veins.
