ErgData: Question about csv-file export

Post by Mat » August 24th, 2017, 2:49 am

Hi together!

I have a question about ErgData: I cannnot get a csv-file export from the online logbook where the split data of every workout can be seen. This can only be made with the Concept2 Utility and an usb flash drive where all the workouts are stored on. Problem is: ErgData and usb flash drive cannot be used together when doing a workout. Now if I would use ErgData without a flash drive will my workout then being uploaded AND stored in the internal memory of my PM5 at the same time? So I could later transfer the workout from the internal memory to a usb flash drive and then get a complete csv-file with the Concept2 Utility on my PC.

In other words: Is there any posibility to get a full csv export file (with all split data) when using ErgData? :?:

Thank You.

I very rarely use ergData aany longer as I use BoatCoach, on Android, that exports a raw csv with loads of data in and also leaves the session in the PM memory which I'm not sure it should. Painsled also does csv files I think.

You can use a USB stick alongside Ergdata. That gets the same old stuff that used to land on your PM3/PM4 logcard.

The hard part of that is finding a compatible USB stick.

Thanks for your reply.

I have a working and compatible USB stick. It came with the new rower and is from Concept2. So the stick is no problem.

Two years ago for the first and final time I did use ErgData and my stick together. It ended with a complete loss of all my stick data. That problem might have been fixed in the meantime but Concept2 clearly says:

'ErgData will not function properly if a LogCard is in the PM3/PM4 or a USB flash drive is the PM5. Remove any LogCard or USB flash drive before using ErgData.'

So the question is: Even if I cannot use a usb stick simultaneously with ErgData... Is my workout being saved in the PM5 memory or is it uploaded into my online logbook only? :?:

Hi Toby.

ErgData is not too bad. And it's free. That's awesome! I would love to use it. The only problem comes with the online logbook because it isn't possible to export a complete csv-file with all data like the utility program can. Maybe the Team of Concept2 changes that in the near future...
