Great work marius - the fact you took 6s off probably means even with current form there is more there. Carbs early morning not working for you? Should do.

Kerosene, really well done. You've made some big improvements. It seems to me that you're suited to long distances if that felt good. Not much more and you'll be doing a HM. Is that an option for you?
Marius, 6.2 secs faster from an already very fast time?!!? Blimey, slow down you're making us look lazy
Seriously that is very impressive especially if it didn't feel right to start with.

2K TT this morning. Empty stomach, only water(note to myself; never try this again in the morning and on an empty stomach)
Struggled getting into the race pace in the beginning and knew I had started too fast when I saw estimated finish around 6:10-6:12.
Settled down to the target pace 1:34.5 and kept it to the finish. An improvement of 6.2 seconds from my previous PB.

@Dangerscouse - Thanks
I'm not that fast
@hjs - Thanks
Was hoping for 6:15-6:16 but I'm glad I went with my plan of 1:34.5. It was like hitting a wall after around 1400m, maybe better if done later on the day with some fuel in the body. I knew my honeymoon days where over when I ran the PP pyramid session last week. 2K and 5K will be very hard to improve from now on. 6K and 30' should still have some "easy" improvements.
Again I hate the 2K TT feeling, much better with a hard 5K

I think the 5k is the worse, the only reason the 2k felt so though us because this one you really rowed 100%, those other you could still speed up. Once you really have to dig deep and can,t speed up anymore it feels the most bad.-marius- wrote:@Dangerscouse - ThanksI'm not that fast

Thanks. Beginner gains still as I am hittibg PBs in training workouts without a real TT mentality. I think I could lmost hit the half marathon at my 1h pace.Dangerscouse wrote:Kerosene, really well done. You've made some big improvements. Now all my PBs have been updated this autumn except 1K. Dreading it quite a bit but as my goals are 2K race in January and 500m in March I should hit some hard shorter pieces too.
Marius, your numbers are pretty crazy to me. Congrats on the sub 6:20

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Done my third marathon this morning and got a time of 2hr 53: 34 beating my previous PB by 53 secs.
I can be my own biggest critic though as I wanted to go sub 2hr 50 and maybe carry on to do 45km in total. In the end I think the night out on Friday started to have an effect on the last 5km, which were really tough, which was annoying as I didn't stop for a stretch until 32km.

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Hi
I am doing a 2k test on Friday. My personal best is 7:48,7.
Did a 4* 1000 m (5) at 1:56,1 today with neg splits comfortably.
Anyone with any ideas what pace I should hold the first 1700 meters? Does 1:58-59 seem to conservative?
Thanks, Magnus McKenzie

5k conservative on:
19:25.4. Average split 1:56.5. I know I've posted this already just thought I'd tell you guys and be arrogant. Reckon I can get 1:55 split on an all out effort.

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Managed to bump my 30min PB up last night from 7780 to 7814m. Especially nice since a few days before on my first erg for 17 days I struggled to get 7500m so I was worried my fitness had gone all the way back to the start.
Target is 8000m but not sure if I can reach that this year. Back in March/April my 30min distance was just over 7500m so I've gained 300m since then so maybe I can get ~200m in the next 3 months. Maybe...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
DNA, you can definitely do another 200m. Based on your progress so far the extra metres will be more of a mental issue than fitness.
If you break it down it's less than seven metres a minute. If you're like me that's less than one stroke extra per minute. No big deal. It will probably feel too much in your head whilst your erging but I reckon your capable. Keep gradually increasing the effort or do more intense intervals and you'll be getting there in no time.

You're probably right. I'll probably try a couple of cycles of the regular PP then aim for the 8k. Bonus is that it will hopefully get a lot colder here and I perform much better when the gym is a few degrees colder.Dangerscouse wrote:DNA, you can definitely do another 200m. New 30 minute PB!!!
7592m
I reckon 7600 was probably possible but oh well I'm happy with that PB.
Well done DNA!
