@stu - that's a good "line in the sand". I clocked 21:56 recently (and I'm certain there's more there) so you should be good for a fair bit more IMO once you're firing on all cylinders...
Maybe try a 1Km for a bit of fun...?

15k this morning at about as fast as I can probably go (new PB) but also managed to hit the 2 million metres mark which I didn't notice earlier so a double bonus today.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Cheers Paul. It was a bit of a surprise as it felt relatively good, it just really annoyed me that technology let me down. I had fears the wheels were going to come off at 3km especially as I was distracted by the big fella next to me rowing with splayed legs and jerking more than a hormonal teenager. Hopefully I'll knock off circa 30 secs on a good day, my 5km PB was three months ago and that was at 1:44.9 paceGammmmo wrote:@stu - that's a good "line in the sand". A 1km will have to wait for a little bit yet. I'm still not 100% and I think I might injure myself if I try and thrash out a 1km.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Did "the full Monty" today. Up at 7, cold shower, cup of tea and off for 40mins on the bike. My usual hilly ride with beautiful views over the lake and the mountains from the top. Then the usual (5 times a week) pullups, pushups, dumbbells, abs and yoga. This afternoon off to the gym for some erging. 10mins warmup on the elliptics then took the rowing machine outside and knocked off 10k (my fourth, I think) in 44:24 (@2:13 df110 24spm), which is a PB by 30 seconds. Still, it was definitely not flat out. Felt great afterwards. I hope that I can get lots more days like this in over the summer. My target 10k (running) is in 3 months, so two months of endurance then a month of sharpening/tapering.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
A steady 30/r20 for me last evening. I can feel my rowing fitness has slightly improved since returning from injury... this felt more comfortable @r20 than before. I think pushing myself more and at higher rate in some recent 6k sessions has also helped as well.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

That felt a lot harder than I expected. The 6k on Saturday and a heavy weights session yesterday have taken more out of me than I realised. I'm off the erg for another week now due to holiday but I might be able to hire a kayak when we get there.
The wheels almost came off at 6k so I'm glad I persevered.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
doing well! Have a look at reporting your resistance as drag factor rather than damper setting (which will vary a lot from one machine to another). lots of talk here about it and allows for consistent training efforts. A DS of 5 could mean anything as far as drag factor goes.Heaviestuser wrote:2,5 K Damper Setting 5 Pace 21 Time 11:30:5
