I'll pop a time in soon to get the ball rolling.
Should we not create a new team (e.g. High Flyers 18) in case we can't get all the previous people to release their membership of last year's one? It's flexible until the end of the month I think, so we can track membership here, and communicate any changes before then. So it looks like we have at least 3 in so far - me, you and Rolf.
That probably makes better sense - we will create a High Flyers 18 and then re affiliate - may not get the 8 I guess but worth a try. Terry is very likely as well.
Re affiliated. Saw Frank Noorlander registered for Forum Flounderers. Will ask him to sign in on High Flyers 18.

Good stuff - looks like we're filling the team up nicely. There were already a few names up when I put my entry in on Tuesday night.

I've also noticed the flakiness of that site. Haven't worked out the pattern but it might be related to number of pages accessed in a row. More incentive to keep us on the first 2 pages of the leaderboard!

Hi

I've just joined this team so I can log my meters for the Fall Team Challenge. I wanted to know a bit more about the ctc which I think means entering a boat made up of a mixed crew but also saw something about the indoor rowing league. I have been rowing (on a concept 2) on and off over the years but have decided to try and get into a bit of a routine and entre some times on the rankings, so thought belonging to a team might give me that extra incentive. If I can be of any help in any team let me know. I'm 58, 78kg and not that fast, current time for 2k 7.45'ish and for 5k 20 mins. Have just started Pete's Plan for the 5k (the 3 times a week version) so hope to improve on those times over the next 12 weeks.

Many thanks.

Welcome jp!

There are 4 events that are running simultaneously, and they all need some form of separate sign-up:

Firstly, the general team affiliation runs throughout the season - you'll need to choose "Forum Flyers" as your Affiliation under your log book profile (this is different to "Team" which is needed for the 2nd event), and then all your metres will accrue to the Forum Flyer total.

Secondly, the Fall Team Challenge needs you to join the "Forum flyers 2018" team, which is under the Teams heading on the log book. And then you need to join Fall Team Challenge so that your metres contribute to the challenge. It sounds like you've already done this.

Thirdly the Cross Team Challenge will need another login to be set up. The sign up process is apparently a little fiddly with the occasional odd error message, but it sounds like if you keep trying it will eventually let you join, and then it's seamless from then on. Others who've signed up more recently might be able to add more to this. Once you've done that month's challenge, and entered it onto the site, the allocation to specific Forum Flyers boats will be done automatically (each boat needs at least 1 female, 1 lightweight, and the rest can be filled with anyone, including the fat boys like me).

Finally, if you're still reading, there is the Indoor Rowers League where the best 8 age-adjusted times from a team of 10 will be used for that month's leaderboard. Look for "High Flyers 18" as the 8on8 team name when registering - we haven't filled the first 10 yet, so I'm sure you can grab a spot.

Feel free to ask more questions if my list has caused more confusion!

Cheers
Dave

Is there a way we can make Dave’s summary of our team activities—including where to find and how to sign up—a sticky inside our forum page? Or, If this isn’t possible, could we add it to Capt. Henry’s intro to the team on our logbk affiliation page? Certainly a well-organized omnibus answer to a number of questions which regularly arise!

both are good ideas Jack - I think there is a way of putting it on the top of the first page and keeping it there - maybe we need to ask Doug?

Might need to treat the FTC signup as typical for the three perennial team challenges but otherwise it’s good to go imo. Thoughts or suggestions from others of the ad hoc recruiting committee?

Hi again, jp here,

I've tried unsuccessfully, more than once, to register on the c2ctc.com website. I know there are problems but can you just clarify, as I am registering for the first time I assume the name and password are new and not something I have already used either for the c2 log book or c2 forum?

I haven't yet tried to register for the indoor rowing league but I suppose the same questions apply re name and password.

Any help much appreciated.

Many thanks.

jp
