The fog cleared and the wind died. I launched onto Hood Canal yesterday in my Aero and got in a long, very empty, very quiet row for the first time in months. Didn't even have to think about fishing boats. The only person I saw was an old guy enjoying the view from his truck in the parking lot.
Today, the boat launch at our little local lake opens back up. They stocked it with fish yesterday, 8" trout, and it will be busy today. I won't be there - it will be crowded.
Maybe there is a little light at the end of the tunnel, and it's reflecting off the water...

Re: Back on the water
PaulG and I took ocean shells out onto the Mighty Merrimack River in Haverhill, MA on Sunday for our first OTW outing of the year. The river is still flowing pretty fast (53 minutes to row upriver against the current, only 27 minutes to get back), and it got choppy at times, and my hands picked up 7 or 8 blisters, but it was still good to get out there.

Re: Back on the water
First row since March 15. Glassy lake. I feel so much better mentally after. There’s something about it that causes mood lifting feelings when finished. More-so for than other activities. Or maybe it’s just different somehow
