Mornin folks,
Just wanted to pop in and say hello and thank you all for the amount of information on this board -it's been helping me tremendously to figure out what the heck I'm getting myself into. I've been a garage gym lifter for a while but planning to replace my running workouts with a C2 once it arrives in the next few days (Thanks Rogue!) I'm 40+, so a lifetime of abuse and bad genetics has finally worn my knees down to the point that running in the Texas heat just isn't worth the pain anymore.
A couple years ago I was at 6', 230lbs and I'm down to 200lbs now, but there's still a bit of spare tire and gut that I'm trying to get rid of. I eat mostly keto/carnivore at BMR maintenance and rely on the exercise to provide the deficit. It's not the most efficient way to lose weight, but it works for me - just slowly.
Historically I've done mostly LISS runs (3-10 miles) on lifting recovery days (I lift 3-4x a week and run 2-3x depending on how I feel) with Crossfit WoD style interval work for engine building. I imagine once I've gotten some time on the machine to get my form and muscles adapted over, I'll be able to figure out an equivalent pacing to keep the heart rate down while chewing up some distance.
Thanks again for all the excellent posts and I'm sure I'll be back with some noob questions shortly!
