5k 135.6 from Jason

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lDCFlvNY4vk

And 2.41 1k from James

Soon a battle over 2k between the 2? Both ready to break the current record.
Amazing stuff.

I think the 5k is the more impressive of the two as i find that the skierg lends itself better to sprinting (your WRs notwithstanding).

Bit of a fly and die from James there :).

Interesting battle coming up on the 2k. Think my money will be on Jason.

To be honoust, I can’t relate to any of those times. Wr in rowing I find more or less understandable, skierg records not.
I don’t think the machine is suited to any direction. Do think having high upperbody power is very usefull, in rowing you can get away with being very fit.
A guy like James, fair is fair, is not super fit, but can benchpress 200kg. Jason won’t match that, but is still pretty strong.
There is third man in the game. Freddy Smulter, former Powerlifter, still has a bizar benchpress, 3/4 in de week he does 200kg sets, max still around 270kg. His rom is short  181 135/40 kg ish. Certainly not all muscle but still. He has a 6.06 2k, relative newby. Started with zero aerobic fitness. Expect him also to go sub 6.

Again, skierg is strange beast, the average guy/girl is much better suited to row.

James ‘s raw 1k. At first glance you may think, he can’t be that fit.

And here Jason doing his 1k,

Can’t find any skierg footage of Freddy Smulter, who pulled a 2.44 1k so show a benchpress endurance session.

Jason's technique is really smooth - I half expect James to break the machine with every pull as the force application is quite jerky. Freddie's obviously very strong, but yeah I agree that he doesn't really look much like an endurance athlete!

I watched the video of Jason and noticed his technique which finished the stroke about mid-shin. What a difference. Took almost a minute off my PB 2K ( from 8:40 to 7:50). I've watched some videos but not that closely I guess. I was finishing just above my knees. I couldn't really believe that change made such a big difference so I was waiting to blow and held back a little. Will give it another go soon.
