Thanks, Dutch.
The drag was 130 with 150mm cranks, and 78 rpm for both of them.
I wasn't sure about doing the second one, but it turned out okay.

Did you get new cranks or have the originals drilled?

Dutch,
I had them drilled by a very helpful local machine shop.
They didn't have the pedal taps, so I got those from Ebay.
Here's a previous thread on this.

Today was time for my first 4k tt. I was going to combine it with a 1k tt as well, knowing that I would not be able to go flat out for the 1k, but could still get a reasonable time I felt.
I started the 4k going pretty quick at a 1.44 pace, then went lower to a 1.48 after about 500m. At this stage my quads started to feel the pressure, so I slowed to about 1.51 pace as I still had just over 3k to go.

I went through the 1k mark at 1.51.8, watts 250, rpm 90, df 71.

By now my quads were cetainly feeling the work and did wonder if I would even make 2k at this rate. I got a breathing pattern going and my legs just seemed to keep pumping away with no change. I have no experience of being flat out at this distance at all so it was all new.
So by 3500 I was at a predicted time of 7.29, I was flat out and could feel my stomach tightening, I did wonder if I might be sick if I kept this pace up, I eased off the pace ever so slightly and it went to 7.30 predicted.
By 250m left I was slowing and just hung in, the time went to 7.31 predicted and I was slowing quite badly. At the finish I just slowed up the last 50m as I was spent and it showed a time of 7.33.1. :D

4k, 7.33.1, watts 242, rpm 89, av 1.53.2, df 71.

Fot a first attempt, not knowing pacing strategy or anything I am quite happy, I thought I might have been able to hold a 1.50 pace, but that proved not to be, just yet.
