Thanks Sascha, Peter and Mike. I will also be having a go at 2k and 30 mins before the end of the month. It's the end of the season and I'm in good shape so why not? I"ve also got a weeks holiday coming up in Spain at the beginning of May so I"m keen to do all this before then.

Well done (again) Kerry, and I fully expect a 2k and 30 min PB in the next few weeks. You definitely look capable of it

OK, so after a health scare end of Nov'24 (no training at all for a month), I tried to get back to where I was.
Goal was to move closer to my sub-7' 2K wet dream from my corrent 7:19.
Of course, during thge last week (taper) I had to catch a cold/sore throat, so I was even less confident than usual.
Yesterday I stopped the 2K TT because I started way too fast (dumb me), and tried a 500m that I stopped too (but it was promising).

Today I tried to boost my confidence with a 5090m: went from 1:35.3 to 1:33.5 (faded at the end, as usual). I'd be happy if my 2K foes down proportionally :)

Ha ! Decided to do the dreaded 2K TT today (because what's the point in delaying self-inflicted pain one extra day ?) and went a bit beyond my expectations: 7:12.4 (down from 7:18.6). Still faded a bit last 500m, but that's me.

Gonna go for the 1K and 1min next with some confidence. But the 5K, 10K and HM will be different nuts to crack.

Anyway, happy.

Another PB to report from me. This time 30 mins.
Previous PB for this distance was 7310 13/04/2024 so almost a year ago. Plan today was r25 at around 2:03 pace with a push at the end. Went well but was a little worried when HR was already 150 with 10 mins to go and I needed to lift the pace!

Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M
30:00.0 7,348 2:02.4 190 955 25 145
5:00.0 1,217 2:03.2 187 943 25 125
10:00.0 1,217 2:03.2 187 943 25 136
15:00.0 1,217 2:03.2 187 943 25 144
20:00.0 1,218 2:03.1 187 944 25 150
25:00.0 1,220 2:02.9 188 948 24 156
30:00.0 1,258 1:59.2 206 1010 26 162

Gives me 3 weeks now for the 2k which is just as well as I may need more than 1 attempt at it.

1min PB (338m from 332m) and 1K PB (3:23.9 from 3:26.9) done too. The 1K was weirdly paced (1:40.4, 1:42.6, 1:43.0 and 1:41.8 each 250m).

Got the 4 PBs (1min, 500m, 1K and 2K) at way higher DF than usual (150 for the 2K, 165-170 for the rest), with a rather constant -1.5s/500m improvement (the 500m was -1.8s/500m).

Will try to squeeze a 5K, a 10K and, less likely, an HM TT before end of the season, even if recently I haven't trained for longer distances.
