Killed most of the wasps, and bought one of those fly bags which has decimated that unsavory population. This seemingly caused an ecological vacuum - now there are horseflies and I was bitten several times after foolishly opening the garage door to get some fresh air.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
No there were breaks. Usually i stand up, get a drink of water, program the next piece then sit back down and start when my HR is 120 or less (which it usually is already). So maybe 2 minutes?
However sometimes I may have to pee, refill water, or yell at my kids so then the break might be up to 5 minutes.
Yeah, one on my leg from last week is still welted up and I'm putting disinfectant on it daily. I'm also probably one of the few who has had a row interrupted by a chicken wandering into the gym.Dangerscouse wrote: ↑June 5th, 2025, 1:20 pmHorseflies bites are horrible. However i still count myself fortunate to have my own place to exercise, and the time and good health to do so, as well as encouragement from RL people and online guys here.

With a 1:35 800 after 7 at 1:40 I'd say more than knocking on the door - more ready to breeze through it. I'll look forward to seeing it very soon.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
A bit of last minute travel for work this week.
Really good sessions at home on Tues and Wed but then an all day travel day (left my house at 3a, got to my hotel where I am staying at 7p) Thurs had me with a day off. On Fri, I had some work appts to make but was able to get in 2 hours of quality work in the hotel fitness center.
What I was very happy with during this session was that, once my HR got settled into Z2 right around 140bpm, it just stayed there the whole time with minor fluctuations up and down but it held pretty darn steady for 2 hours.
50 rounds of 5 pull-ups, 10 push-ups, 15 walking lunges (per leg).
Total volume: 250 pull-ups, 500 push-ups, 750 walking lunges (per leg).
It worked out to be a tad over a mile of lunging when all was said and done.
Sat is a full blown travel day to get back home so training may be missed again, hence why I did so much work on Fri, but if I can squeeze something in first thing in the morning before flying home or at night once I get home I will.

That sums up my late teens / 20s / 30s and early 40s

I'd love to know how things would turned out if I'd been more dedicated. Probably not significantly better, but it definitely would have been better.

Last night I had a plan to do the Team Oarsome monthly challenge (1 min; 9 mins; 7 mins; 4 mins and circa 2 mins rest), but it just wasn't happening this morning. I had to peel myself out of bed, so it was a fair warning.
I just did my warm up session and called it a day

Thanks Mike, will likely do it on a whim sometime this month. I'd like an early Indoors marker, which will soon come round.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Ha, I got my act together by my late 20's (mostly) and did start to prioritise my training/racing a bit more, but I was up against it. I'm probably back on a level playing field now though, the beauty of age groups..Dangerscouse wrote: ↑June 6th, 2025, 2:52 pmI'd love to know how things would turned out if I'd been more dedicated. Probably not significantly better, but it definitely would have been better.
Need the stars to align for this one, looks a tough piece.Dangerscouse wrote: ↑June 7th, 2025, 3:47 amLast night I had a plan to do the Team Oarsome monthly challenge (1 min; 9 mins; 7 mins; 4 mins and circa 2 mins rest), but it just wasn't happening this morning. I had to peel myself out of bed, so it was a fair warning.
