Well, I haven't even qualified for a SS1K yet. Tried it last fall on 3 hrs sleep, 2 hrs the night before that. Got 500 miles before I decided to call it off. My mind wasn't into it. Kept getting intimidated by traffic, which I normally never am, I figured it was a sign I was too tired to ride. Maybe this spring, I'll try it again. I don't know if I have the stamina to to the actual IB Rally, but I know I don't have the means just now. Would have to look for a sponser. I do enjoy putting in lots of miles on the bike, though I rarely have enough time to do so. I just don't understand people who cruise around town all day. Too boring and WAY too slow for me.yamadog wrote:
Good luck with the Iron Butt thing Kevin. I've done a few Saddlesore 1000's and they were tough![]()

I came home and hopped on the rower knowing you were going to try to catch me!

mmmm, Blanton's....

Hello...
Hey there... new member to the moto team. Obviously, I'm into moto and now I've found more motivation to grind out some meters. I don't row exclusively, I run, do some resistance training and chase my (4) boys around. The rower has really introduced a new level of challenge though and is sometimes semi-addictive.
Anywho... my name is Erik and we'll just see where this thing goes!

Welcome Shifter we needed some new meters! I just got off the rower and if anyone needs a good work out here is one I did today.
do a 2500 meter warm up. Then (if you have a PM3 or PM4 monitor) set up an interval distance workout 250 meters X 10 with a minute thirty rest. Then set the pace boat at a pace that is just out of your comfort zone. Try and not let that SOB beat you! when you are done do a 1000 meter cool down. It is hard but you do get a sense that the pace boat is some guy trying to pass you on some single track and the finish is only 250 meters away.

Wow!

Re: Hello...
Both - saving and crazy... more crazy really.michelle wrote: Wow!Either you were saving meters all month or you are one of THOSE crazy dudes. Either way it's great to have someone log a quick 100,000.
Now that I'm reg'd, I won't lump sum them any longer though. Lately I've been trying to bag 10k per session though, so if I can keep my motivation, I'll start packing them away.
I'm still getting over being pissed @ the person that designed the fish game. That frig'n thing 'll break your heart if go for an "all you can eat" row!GREGH wrote:Welcome Shifter we needed some new meters! I just got off the rower and if anyone needs a good work out here is one I did today.

I didn't know if my initial entry yesterday was Logcard data or lifetime (local to PM4) data, so I did 10401M last night. From this point forward, I'll only add log data that could be verified on my log card.
I did your interval suggestion Greg, but since I didn't really know how the intervals worked, I pooped myself out after only 4 of 'em. I was doing 250M in 51-52.5, but once I realized I wouldn't keep that pace for 10 intervals, I caved!

The more you row at differnt distances it is easier to dial yourself into the pace boat thing. To start out take your best time for a 500m sprint and subtract one second from that time. If you get all 10 intervals pretty easy than subtract another second until you are fighting to stay ahead of the pace boat. It is ok if you don't win all the intervals.( That lil SOB is FAST). - Greg
