Rowpro unable to connect online with new PM5

I just upgraded to a PM5 from a PM3 on my Model D. I've not had any trouble with Rowpro and my individual rows. Always see the green connection light and works fine.

Today I tried my first online row with my new PM5. Below is the error message I received:

Current firmware is the latest 166 version. I am running Rowpro 4.3. I never had trouble with online rowing with my current computer and PM3. I did try a hard reset of the PM5 with no change.

I have contacted Rowpro but have not heard back. I wonder if anyone here has any thoughts or suggestion.

I had the same problem in 2017 when I upgraded to a PM5. Hopefully Carl will be along shortly to add to this, but I don't think RowPro 4.3 works with PM5s. I bought the upgrade to v5 which also changes the way the RowPro logbook works (online logbook). All my past v4 rows couldn't be used to row against anymore (even though I'd done the migration of the RowPro logbook), so I've had to start building up a new library of past rows in v5.

I used ErgData more anyway, so still happy that I upgraded to the PM5, but I use RowPro less than in recent years.

Trial upgrade to Rowpro v5.0 seems to have solved my issue on my current laptop. I was a bit concerned when Pete from Rowpro implied that an upgrade might only work on a machine with factory installed Windows 10.

I seem to remember reading something about that. I'm using a 6 year old laptop that was running Windows 8 before I applied the Windows 10 free upgrade, and haven't had any problems with RowPro 5 when I use it. I was having trouble with error messages when I had a USB drive plugged into the back of the PM5, but eventually realised that you shouldn't be using it with ErgData (which seems to run OK with RowPro connected).

Carl has mentioned before that he had to get a new laptop once he moved to RowPro 5, so maybe I've just been lucky so far.
