How do you sit?

Post by PingPong » August 28th, 2006, 10:38 pm

As I was erging this evening, I was thinking about how my butt contacts the seat. I could sit so my sitz bones were making contact. And I could sit so the fleshy part behind the sitz bones was making the contact. And I could sit so I was aware of muscles and/or flab re-arranging during the stroke.

The question is how should my butt contact the seat?

I sit it well forward on the seat and on the bones of my arse to allow me to rock forwards and back, this also creates a contact point that you can 'feel' and when it disappears it often means I am slouching. If I sit to far back then on long rows I can develop a situation where the seat digs into my upper hamstring and becomes a pressure point..... can cause circulation problems.

IMHO :) George
