Is there a schedule of erg races through out the year?

KipKeino,
In my area (Colorado), other than the Mile High Sprints I just competed in last weekend, there is not a lot. You can go to http://www.concept2.com/us/training/rac ... lendar.aspto see what is going on in your area.

Thanks Rich.
I guess that most people are probably rowing on the water once the weather's nice. I assumed more people used their ergs year round.
I live in Massachusetts and my other sport is running. I could easily find a road race any month of the year. I'm surprised that their isn't more head to head competition in the erg community.

Bill,
I am a runner also and there is a 5 or 10K almost every weekend in the summer around here. I think the number of Indoor Rowers compared to the number of Runners is very small, thus the lack of competitive events. I have not looked into this but there is also the option of On Line racing if you have a high speed connection and the software. After my first competition experience last weekend, I think I will be looking into it.

I would suggest you jump onboard a vitual team and get into the online racing and challenges. Best place to start is the UK forum in the Teams thread. There's a cross team challenge every month and most teams have their own monthly races and challenges either on rowpro on on Erg League Manager.kipkeino68 wrote:I'm surprised that their isn't more head to head competition in the erg community.
I only started rowing in december last year and have made great gains, which I put down to the advice and competition that the team environment provides.

You mean you really want to do that again? Unless you in a scholastic or college program trying to make a boat not much goes on in the indoor rowing world in New England until the fall.
If you have RowPro you can always join an on-line race.
I'm just waiting for the lakes to thaw so I can get back on the water (but erging 12K per day till they do!). Bill - if my Google sleuthing is correct you live in the next town over from me. If you ever want to give sculling a try let me know. It sure beats rowing in your basement! A group of us also get together sometimes and erg together at the QRA in Shrewsbury.
PM me and we can talk.

If you don't try, you will never know how bad you suck.
